A Boy and his Best Friend

“A Boy and his Best Friend” is a quilt of my son and his Old English Sheepdog, B Bear. They defiantly are best friends who spend hours together every day. I printed a photograph of them on fabric and covered their images 100% in 58 different colors of thread. The process of Thread Painting is one in which threads are constantly blended to achieve a smooth transition between them on his face and in the hair of the dog. The background is free motion embroidery with less than ¼” between stitches.
