Dance to the Music

Dance to the Music is a quilt that was inspired by a photograph that I took of a young flamenco dancer performing on the Plaza in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The swirl of her huge skirt in its magnificent colors is mesmerizing. The joy she expresses as she dances to the music is beautiful to behold. Her face is 100% thread. The background and her flowing skirt are free motion embroidery. Eighty -four different colors of thread were used in this quilt. You can also see her as she dances with others in her troupe. For the quilt, I changed the background in Photoshop and added the musical notes to allow her to dance with her music.
