Peacock Flower

The peacock flower is the national flower of the Caribbean island of Barbados, and is depicted on the Queen’s Personal Barbadian Flag, which Queen Elizabeth II uses in her role as Queen of Barbados. is native to the West Indies but was introduced to, and is commonly found in, Texas, Arizona, California, and Florida

This small piece of art only took 4 hours to complete. I always begin by working from the center of the art outward. This keeps the piece from creating bubbles that are hard to lay flat. I included rayon and metallic threads in the petals to create a shine. The glow is reflected in the matte that is covered in a glass bead medium.
