Carson and Cat

Carson and cat is a magical combination of photography, thread painting and Encaustic. Encaustic is a centuries old wax technique that has been used by fiber artists for centuries. I applied beeswax to my fiber and then reheated the was in order to fuse the surfaces. This has allowed me to add texture to the quilt by scratching the surface of the wax. The wax also adds a sheen to the finished piece of art.
