Long Day At The Escondido

Long Day at the Escondido is based on a photograph that I took at the end of a long day branding 200 calves. They are tired, but still pleased to be together, sharing their friendship. I chose to use free motion embroidery in the sky to represent the softness of the clouds. The shadows on the horses and jackets was difficult to achieve. Each area using 5 or more different colors of thread, blended together to create the shadows.
